Raising the Shade: 1850-1910 will explore what life was like before, during, and after the Civil War by engaging the Franklin County community in conversation and activity from June 2024 to December 2025. The Franklin County NAACP is the “manager” of the project.
Raising the Shade has been made possible in part by a grant from the Monuments Across Appalachian Virginia Project, funded by the Mellon Foundation.
